Children in Care Training
There are some simple and effective measures professionals can take to identify child trafficked children and better safeguard this group of children. The training will cover an array of topics and throughout the session there will be use of interactive case studies and participants will be encouraged to bring live cases that the group can discuss.

NB. An administration charge of £50 will be made for any cancellations 4 weeks or less of the training date. A charge for any pre-paid transport tickets will be charged irrespective of the 4 weeks cancellation notice. Cancellation requests must be made via email.
Training Objectives
The practitioner will be able to:
- Know how to identify looked after children/ potentially looked after children who may have relatives overseas
- Gather information about family overseas
- Understand the process involved in procuring assessments from overseas
- Understand UK court issues with overseas assessments
- Understand legal and immigration issues in making placements
- Understand monitoring overseas placements in partnership with overseas authorities
- Focus on the process of care proceedings, procuring reports from overseas, international time frames, quality of assessment issues
- Ensure sufficient information to make a decision on placing the child is obtained and are aware of visa/immigration issues
- Focus on making placements and monitoring them
