CFAB's Statement on the Ongoing Situation in Ukraine

CFAB extends our solidarity to the people of Ukraine. This war is having a devastating impact on innocent children and families who face losing their homes, their safety and their lives. As the UK partner of the International Social Service, we stay committed to protecting children and families affected by the war in Ukraine.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees is estimating that a total number of 4 million will leave Ukraine, seeking safety from this war, many of whom are women and children, as men between the ages of 18 to 60 cannot leave Ukraine. Many families will be displaced and will need to seek refuge in other countries.

Over the past seven decades, CFAB has helped to reunite children and families across international borders in times of violence and war. We now stand ready to help and support the people of Ukraine – all children have the right to life and survival, and we must protect them.

We urge world leaders to bring this war to an end and ensure that the people of Ukraine access to the humanitarian support they will desperately need.
